Vinschgau Valley in summer
The
Val Venosta Valley is an alpine valley between
Merano and the
Resia Mountain Pass. Characteristic for the valley is the small amount of annual precipitation. The reason for this climate is the imposing mountain chains: The
Ortles-Cevedale Group (Ortler 3,905 m, South Tyrol’s highest mountain) and the
Ötztaler Alps, which stop the clouds.
The climate also offers ideal prerequisites for
hikers and
nature enthusiasts. Whether you climb up to over 3,000 metres or you hike along the
irrigation channels in the valley – everywhere you will be accompanied by the mild and sunny climate of this area. In
high summer it has a very refreshing effect and in
spring and
autumn it offers comfortable warmth.
The Venosta Valley is located in the hiking paradise of the
Stelvio National Park, where professional guides offer exciting hiking excursions.
