Naturno in Vinschgau Valley

>> Lodgings in Naturno <<

Naturno is located 550 metres above sea level. It is a beautiful little town in the vicinity of Merano, located at the entrance to the Val Venosta Valley and in immediate proximity to the Tessa Natural Mountain Group.

Characterized by sun all year round, Naturno offers a particularly mild climate to visitors. Here the view gets lost in an endless flower sea of various colours and scents, which provide a change to the numerous fruit gardens and vineyards.

As varied as the flowery fields are the various excursions in pure air and unspoilt nature, as well as the sports options. In Naturno you can find various tennis courts, a climbing hall, a public swimming pool with a water slide more than 70 metres long and various golf courses. Here you can also give rafting and other less demanding sports a try.

Also from a cultural point of view Naturno does not lag behind adjacent towns.
Of particular interest is without doubt a visit to the Juval Castle. It was built in the 13th Century and currently serves as home for the king of the “eight thousands”, the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner. The castle can however still be visited and it is definitely worth it, as in its interior you can admire art collections and a picture gallery of amazing beauty.

Also not to be missed is a visit to the San Procolo Church, which is located at the outskirts of the town. It is one of Tyrol’s oldest churches and it holds unique and fascinating frescos, which attract art connoisseurs from all over the world.
